Designed and Created is built on a love of art, design and craft. Our goal is to showcase the talent we have here in the UK and tell the stories of our incredible artists and artisans.

Helen Martino has been a potter for over 40 years. Helen's journey to becoming a renowned potter started when she went to Farnham School of Art and then onto the Central School based in London, where she achieved her ceramics degree.

Verity Hensey is one of the most beautiful people I know, inside and out, and her art is stunningly beautiful as well. Verity creates the simplest unique line drawings where the ink seems to flow effortlessly across the paper to create the unique lines of the body's silhouette.

Dan can capture a moment like n0-one else I know. His ability to capture the exact perfect second in an image is incredible; with him an image really is worth a thousand words. Dan goes above and beyond to get the right image, so that's why I'm excited and proud to be able to showcase some of his private collection.

Kate is a very rare creative that covers so many different disciplines and skills, it's really hard to sum her up in one word. She is an amazing artist that can draw, paint, create and generally turn her hand to anything. A true creative mind that is forever pushing herself and learning new skills.

Heather is an amazing new talent to emerge in the UK. Currently in her final year of an integrated Master's degree, and having been shortlisted by New Designers in her category, she is definitely one to watch.

Ria Beeson studied Architecture at university so never expected to be producing wall hangings and textiles, but after failing to be able to buy what she wanted for her own home, her design flair and love of sewing kicked in. Hang Time Textiles was born! Her architectural eye is definitely at play with her work, with influences from geometric contemporary shapes and mid-century design.

Clare has been a practicing studio-based artist for over three decades, alongside being a teacher and enthusiastic traveller. Clare studied textile design at Derby University as a weaver, but quickly found the freedom of felt-making and spent many years designing unique wall hangings and other sculptural pieces.

M2 is a creative collaboration between Laura and her mother-in-law (and renowned potter) Helen Martino. It began with Helen’s imaginative and expressive surface patterns and Laura’s keen eye for design and love of stationery, and has evolved into an innovative way to showcase the designs and creations of other disciplines in a way that is accessible to anyone.

Rebecca has been painting for many years - ever since graduating with her Fine Arts degree - while also building her own interior design business and raising a family. Not one to stand still, she has taken her painting to a new level this year having been included as part of a pop-up show of art produced during lockdown & having her own solo exhibition show in Santa Cruz, featuring 22 of her landscape paintings.

Sophie is a functional potter thanks to her mum & the Covid Lockdown! Sophie's mum offered her, her old potter’s wheel & after years of rebellion against using clay and having a successful career in photography & events, Sophie suddenly had the time & opportunity to work with clay & the passion & love was immediate.

Izzy is a textile designer that works with machine knitting but started of life in footwear design. Skip forward 10 or so years and Izzy and a friend were casually looking into doing some taster courses and machine knitting popped up. The tutor was amazing and Izzy fell in love with it immediately resulting in her work getting exhibited in their annual gallery exhibition. The rest as they say is history.

Vici Sinkinson studied visual communication at Bath Spa University College specialising in her final year in print making before embarking on a career in children’s book publishing. A true all-round creative, Vici is now a self-taught embroiderer and has a passion for interiors and fashion and we couldn’t be happier to have her part of Designed and Created.
