I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dan as a photographer for many years now, and he is a true talent (not to say workaholic – although he would say it takes one to know one!).
Dan can capture a moment like no-one else I know. His ability to capture the exact perfect second in an image is incredible; with him an image really is worth a thousand words. Dan goes above and beyond to get the right image so that’s why I’m so excited and proud to be able to showcase some of his private collection.
Dan and his camera travel the world, capturing breath-taking images, scenery, and scenarios, so I’m delighted to say Designed and Created are selling some of these images as limited edition prints. Dan’s work has been featured in the likes of GQ and Vogue so to have the opportunity to own one of his images is a true honour. Not only a true talent but a true gentleman as well – I couldn’t be happier to showcase his work.
Dan Hack is a self-taught photographer/director from Cape Town, now residing in London. He has been in the industry for nearly 17 years, developing a keen eye for photography from a young age shooting skateboarders and surfers. He then found himself in a lab learning about developing film. Whilst there he stumbled across the world of fashion and now has a successful career in the commercial sector of the fashion and swimwear industry, as well as having had his work published in the likes of Vogue, L’officiel, GQ, Elle and many more.
Spending the majority of his days travelling the globe on assignment, he developed a very keen eye for street and landscape photography, where he says he finds a lot of his personality and his passion comes through. “It’s the one area you have no control over” he says, “it puts you in a position of a now or never attitude and really makes you think about everything you’ve learnt in milliseconds of time in order to get the shot.”
